A PEEK AT THIS WEEK AND NEXT

We have had a busy week so far in kindergarten. Thanks to Terry for reading to us on Monday! Celebrating our 100th day of school and enjoying a great valentine party on Tuesday was exciting. I think the visit from the plumber to fix our leaky sink may have even topped those activities for some of our curious students who love discovering how things work! Thursday highlights included Jake sharing a story with us, dressing like a favorite book character, and having a school family gathering. Thank you to several members of the community for reading to our students at this special “I Love to Read” multi-age school family gathering. Healthy Habits finished our “Showing Care” theme on Thursday. Taking care of our teeth and learning other healthy habits to keep our body fit will be the topic of our next class book. We will be in great shape and ready for our road trip!

Yes! We are going on a road trip! Our first stop is Detroit. We will make our car and decorate it with our new high frequency words. These new models will be displayed on our poetry bulletin board. Then off we go as we discover special sights and land forms. We will learn about our presidents as we visit Washington D. C. and tour the White House. The Liberty Bell, Mount Rushmore, rivers, lakes, deserts, and mountains are just a few sights in store for us. We will end our journey by exploring Minnesota and learning about our great state and town! I hope it is a smooth ride, full of learning and fun!

NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20TH DUE TO PRESIDENTS ‘ DAY.

Happy Traveling!
