March 23-April 3

A PEEK AT THIS WEEK AND NEXT
Most children are fascinated by dinosaurs and other forms of prehistoric life. This week we began our unit on dinosaurs. We will be learning about these monsters from the past and create some cute giggle monsters next week. We will also illustrate a book called If You Meet A Dragon… based on a book by Joy Cowley. Be prepared to be tickled by this story! Other highlights of this unit we will be going on a dinosaur dig, making fossils, creating a dinosaur glyph and enjoying a delightful dinosaur treat!

END OF THE YEAR SPECIAL PROJECT
The children have been working on a creating a special gift for you. It is a plate which they have decorated with their own beautiful art work. There is a cost of $6.50. The children and I discussed how they could earn this money to help pay for it. If possible could you pay this by Friday, March 27? Children who have parents living in two different houses will make a plate for each parent. If you are writing a check please make it payable to Parkers Prairie Public School.

VOCABULARY WORDS FOR THE WEEK
List and date are the new words for the week. Monday the children
created some lists (with the help from older students) telling how all students
can be platinum with their behavior throughout the school day. This
school wide project produced wonderful data from our class. We will make several lists at school, if you can make some at home that would be great.

It will be a roaring good week!
