March 2- 6

A PEEK AT THIS WEEK AND NEXT WEEK TOO

We will finish “This Land is Your Land, This Land is My Land” by learning about Minnesota and Parkers Prairie. We will be making the Minnesota muffin and enjoying the Minnesota beverage as a snack.

“Stories Old” is our theme for this week and next. We will read and discuss several fairy tales. The Three Bears will be our focus this week. Lots of fun activities are planned for this unit. My favorite is having the children act out the story of the Three Bears. We will finish the week by making porridge and sampling it just like Goldilocks. We will also read several other fairy tales throughout the day.

CELEBRATING THE BIRTHDAY OF DR. SEUSS

Read Across America Day is Monday, March 2nd. This is the day when we celebrate the joy of reading with children in honor of the birthday of Dr. Seuss. We will have the honor of listening to a special guest reading the beloved story – The Cat in the Hat.

READING MAKES YOU A STAR
This week there will be a Scholastic book fair at the library. The theme of the fair is “Reading Will Make You a Star.” Each day has a special theme to help celebrate the stardom of reading. For more information, please check last week’s newsletter from Mrs. Cronk.

Have a great week!
