How many words can you think of to describe apples? That is one of our jobs this week. We will
be reading about apples and making books about them too. Learning about Johnny Appleseed is a favorite. Sequencing apples and using apples on a balance scale are just a few of the math and science activities planned for this first week of October. Making the recipe, Apple Smiles, is sure to make us smile--what great preparation for school pictures!

- Friday, October 3 We will attend the homecoming parade. The children will walk back to school after the parade. They will be dismissed from there. Students will be home 20 -30 minutes early.
- October 16 and 17 No school due to MEA
- October 28 Picture retake day
- October 31 We will have a late start at 11:20. It is also the end of the first quarter.
